Laura Shortt, EdD – Business Consultant

Laura has consulted with AR Pools from its inception. She received her MS in Community Counseling from Austin Peay State University and a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2011. She has practiced an evidence-based clinical model, Multisystemic Therapy, as a clinician, clinical supervisor, consultant, manager of implementation, and director of clinical resources for the last 23 years.

The attention to adherent organizational practices, staff development, continuous quality improvement, and consistent data collection related to implementing an evidence-based model has provided Laura with a unique skill set to offer consultative support to AR Pools. In addition, Laura serves as the corporate secretary, offering support as needed to AR Pools leadership.

Laura resides in Clarksville, TN and is a wife and mother of two children. She and her family enjoy outdoor living, biking, and exploring all that life has to offer. Her favorite quote is, “You don’t have a right to the cards you are dealt; you have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you are holding.”
